BUFFALO BOOGIE: May 10, 2008
The Friends of the Fort Worth Nature Center will
be having its annual Buffalo Boogie on May 10. It is a 1M/5K walk and fun-run for
individuals, families, groups, schools, and pets plus a competitive 5K run.
The event in 2007 had over 700 registered participants and 100 volunteers who enjoyed live
music, entertaining and educational games, face-painting, clowns, balloon artists,
exhibits, vendor displays, and lots of good food. The Friends are now soliciting
sponsorships ranging from $50 up to $5,000. All proceeds will go to conservation,
preservation, and management of the growing bison herd. The herd has tripled in size
in the past six months. To increase and maintain pastures, construct additional
fencing and corrals, dig a new well, provide veterinary support and feed all those hungry
mouths will cost. Please support the Buffalo Boogie. For more information, call 817
